Our January/February 2020 class schedule is set as New Hope Academy enters its first full year of Seminary style education for the local Body of Christ. Sign up now for classes in Christian Apologetics, Theology, and Spiritual Formation:

Apologetics 401: Defense of the Resurrection with Dr. Jim Johansen

When: Saturdays from 8am-12pm in Room #4

Starts: January 18th

Ends: Feb. 8th

Description: In this 4-week intensive workshop, Jim Johansen, PhD Liberty University, will lead us through the historical facts, and careful argumentation that show that Jesus of Nazareth did indeed rise bodily from the dead. Join us in learning how to defend the most foundational truth of our Christian Faith, the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior!

Apologetics 201: Comparative Religions (Part II) with Dr. Jacob Daniel

When: Saturdays from 10-12pm in Room #4

Starts: February 15th

Ends: March 7th

Description: In Part II of this class on Comparative Religions, Jacob Daniel will focus on Christian cults, or offshoots of Christianity that make serious theological errors, such as Mormonism and Jehova's Witness, to include newer cults that orthodox Christians need to be aware of. Join Jacob, PhD Cook School of Intercultural Studies, for this class and learn how to re-evangelize those who have been lead astray from the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Theology 201: Biblical Interpretation w/ Jeff Lee

When: Fridays from 6-8pm in Room #4

Starts: January 17th

Ends: March 6th

Description: Good biblical interpretation is fundamental to our growth as believers in Jesus Christ. Above all things God gave us His Spirit, and His Book, the Bible, to lead us into all truth and holiness. To be a more faithful follower of Christ is to know the Word of God. But to know the Word of God well, we have to master certain basic principles. Join Jeff Lee, MA Philosophy, MA Bible Exposition, as he leads us through the world of Biblical Hermeneutics-- the art and science of reading and interpretation.

Special Seminar: Reading C.S. Lewis with Tony Costello

When: TBD

Starts: TBD

Description: This reading group will meet weekly at a New Hope member's home to read through selected works by C.S. Lewis. C.S. Lewis was one of the great Christian thinkers of the 20th century, if not of all time. Lewis combined his literary genius with his passion for Christ, allowing him to produce some of the most memorable books and writings in the Church's history. By reading Lewis' writings we will gain a whole new perspective on our life in Christ, and go deeper into what it means to be a follower of the Lord Jesus. *This class is only for members of the Church of New Hope.

NHA Lecture Night with Dr. Jacob Daniel

When: Sunday, January 5th at 6pm

Topic: Human Dignity and The Image of God

Description: Dr. Jacob Daniel will give a talk on human dignity and how understanding the image of God in man can help us in our own walk of faith, and in our evangelism to the lost.
